I am lucky enough that I
had the opportunity to get to know Kevin over the last few years. From
being out on special occasions, matches in Croker and even a visit in Spain.
But it was all the evenings sitting on the arm chair discussing the politics
of today that I will remember the most. He was such a kind, caring and
passionate man whom you all should be so very proud off. Without realising,
he helped shape my view of the world and those in it. I will be forever
grateful to have known Kevin and his memory will live on always.

My heart goes out to ye at
this heartbreaking and devastating time Anne, Kate and Grainne. Kevin cared
so deeply and fiercely about the injustices faced by so many people here
at home and right across the world, it was a privilege to get to know him,
campaign and struggle with him and yes, at times, disagree with him. Intelligent,
sincere, dedicated, his death really does leave the world a poorer place.
My deepest sympathies to you Anne, to Kate and Grainne, his extended family,
friends and comrades.

I’m really sorry to hear
about the death of socialist activist Kevin Keating in Dublin yesterday.
I first met Kevin many years ago and was immediately impressed with his
easy-going humour, combined with steely determination, to fight for the
rights and demands of working class people throughout the world. It’s an
understatement to say that he will be missed. Much love to his partner
Anne Conway, his daughters and all those who knew and loved him.

My heartfelt condolences
to you Anne, Kate and Grainne. Kevin was such a wonderful person who won
the affection and respect of so many people. I and every one of his comrades
will miss him so much. I will remember forever his warmth and kindness
and his commitment to fight for the better world to which he devoted so
much of his life. I am so grateful and honoured to have been his friend.

It's a shock when you hear
casually on social media of the death of a person you know. I met Kevin,
Anne and daughters at the IMG summer school in 1992. He was one of the
nicest and kindest people I ever met, and modest to a fault. In his case
that last phrase is meant to mean precisely what it says.
