Summary

This discussion will examine the claim that the relative decline of the United States is the motivation behind the drive towards global war.  It will assess the evidence for such a claim.   It will also discuss the extent to which any decline of the US rise is accounted for by the rapid economic rise of China.  Finally, it will discuss what the future is likely to hold, whether that is world war or the emergence of a more peaceful multi-polar world.
